Welcome to A Cajun Cottage. My wife and I are hoping to see you soon. We look forward to making your stay as peaceful and enjoyable as possible. We are both from South Louisiana and are proud of our Cajun heritage. We hope you enjoy the southern hospitality that is so true of the culture here. Truely, the Cajun lifestyle is unique and we want to give you an opportunity to see it for yourself.
Tim and Roxy
A quiet and peaceful place to relax and enjoy nature. If you like the outdoors, Chauvin and the areas near the bayou offer many hunting and fishing opportunities. If you want to tour the area, there are swamp tours, plantation homes, restaurants, specialty shops, and the Chauvin Sculpture Garden is a "must see." Of course, you can chose to sit on the back porch and simply relax. Do keep a camera handy just in case an alligator is spotted.
There are several fishing charters down the road from us. Fresh seafood like crabs, shrimp, fish and of course crawfish are seasonal. The South is known for great food and it's not limited to seafood.
View the activity page to see events offered by Terrebonne and neighboring parishes. Oh, by the way, we don't have counties, we have parishes.
Have you heard of Mardi Gras?
This area and the Houma area both have parades. Keep in mind that New Orleans is only 45 minutes away. Since boats are almost a neccesity here, check the calendar for the annual Christmas boat parade and the Blessing of the Fleet for the commercial fisherman. We hope you enjoy A Cajun Cottage and that you love the Cajun culture here. So give us a call, we look forward to meeting you.
